NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A New Orleans man charged with two slayings and multiple drug-related charges has rejected a plea offer that would have seen him serve 30 years in prison.
NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune (https://bit.ly/2kFi69x ) reports 28-year-old Darryl Sullivan told a judge Monday that he was not interested in the offer and would rather go to trial.
Assistant District Attorney Sarah Dawkins says the state will proceed to trial Wednesday with a drug possession and distribution case against Sullivan involving Oxycodone pills and marijuana.
Sullivan remains charged with two counts of second-degree murder and is expected to be tried on those charges at a later date.
New Orleans police say Sullivan killed 21-year-old JacQuian Charles in 2009 and 21-year-old Christian Francis in 2010. Police say both fatal shootings occurred in the Algiers neighborhood.
