VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - The owners of a shuttered Vicksburg hotel say they’ll announce their plans for it by mid-February.

Company representative Greg Stewart won’t say what Vicksburg Hotel LLC plans for the Portofino Hotel, but tells the Vicksburg Post (https://bit.ly/2kdRfCf ) that it won’t include a casino.

Harrah’s Casino owned the hotel and associated riverboat casino from 1993 until 2003. It was a Horizon casino and hotel until 2010. The venue reopened as Grand Station in 2011, but closed in March 2012.

As the Portofino Hotel, it closed in July 2015.

Stewart said at the time that he expected it to be closed for about seven months of renovations and repairs.

He says lawsuits slowed things down. Records show that a title challenge was thrown out. Stewart says a separate $500,000 claim was settled.
