Officials say snow that fell on Maine and New Hampshire contributed to a fatal crash and caused a number of other accidents across the region.

Unlike recent storms, Wednesday’s weather system brought only fluffy snow, with no sleet, freezing rain, or rain. New Hampshire’s Seacoast and southernmost York County saw about 2 inches of snow, and a few places in Down East Maine reported up to 4 inches of snow.

Slick roads contributed to a deadly crash in Sedgwick, Maine.

State police say 53-year-old Sara Wardamasky of Blue Hill was killed when her vehicle crossed into the path of an oncoming car on Wednesday.

Snow in New Hampshire slowed traffic on Interstate 93 and caused at least one serious crash on I-89. Nearly 200 schools reported closings or delays.
