AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Christmas cookies and hot cocoa are being served up to the children of military families at the governor’s mansion in Maine.

Gov. Paul LePage, a Republican, and first lady Ann LePage hosted the annual Christmas party on Saturday.

The Blaine House event featured an appearance by Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.

Ann LePage said it’s an opportunity to show how much she and the governor “sincerely appreciate their sacrifices while spending time together enjoying some Christmas cheer.”
