Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson told reporters Tuesday that the U.S. has yet to have “any wins” in the foreign policy realm, according to an ABC News report.
“While we don’t have any wins on the board yet, I can tell you we’re in a much better position to advance America’s interests around the world than we were 10 months ago,” Mr. Tillerson told diplomats in Brussels.
His take on the foreign policy situation differs considerably from President Trump, who said his trip to Asia gained the U.S. “at least $300 billion” in trade deals, according to ABC.
Mr. Tillerson has faced much criticism from the administration lately, with several reports indicating that the Trump administration would like to replace him. Both administration officials and Mr. Tillerson have denied these reports.
