Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts accused President Trump Tuesday of trying to “slut-shame” Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York.
“Are you really trying to bully, intimidate and slut-shame @SenGillibrand?” Mrs. Warren said on Twitter. “Do you know who you’re picking a fight with? Good luck with that, @realDonaldTrump. Nevertheless, #shepersisted.”
Ms. Gillibrand called on Mr. Trump to resign over sexual harassment claims. She also was one of the first female senators to call on fellow Democratic Sen. Al Franken of Minnesota to resign over similar claims.
Mr. Trump punched back Tuesday on Twitter.
“Lightweight Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a total flunky for Chuck Schumer and someone who would come to my office ’begging’ for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them), is now in the ring fighting against Trump,” Mr. Trump said. “Very disloyal to Bill & Crooked-USED!” Mr. Trump tweeted.
