BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - An anti-fracking activist ticketed for projecting a skull and crossbones on the wall of a Colorado public building has pleaded not guilty.

David Paul entered the plea in municipal court in Boulder on Monday.

He was cited with trespassing on Nov. 7 after beaming the image and the words “Ban Fracking!” onto Boulder’s old courthouse building downtown. It houses county offices.

The Daily Camera reports that the charge has been changed to unlawfully posting a sign on another’s property. The charge states that no one can post a sign on public property outside of areas designated for signs.

The 54-year-old says his actions didn’t break the law and is asking for the case to be dismissed. He says he has no intention to stop projecting the anti-fracking message.
