Autopsy set for inmate who died in Mississippi prison

LEAKESVILLE, Miss. (AP) - An inmate has been found dead at a Mississippi prison.

The Department of Corrections says 47-year-old Michael Hopkins was found unresponsive Thursday night at South Mississippi Correctional Institution in Greene County. He was pronounced dead at the prison infirmary.

Hopkins was serving 12 years for convictions on burglary of an occupied dwelling, residential burglary and robbery. He was convicted in DeSoto County in May 2006.

An autopsy was being conducted to determine a cause of death.
