AUDUBON, Iowa (AP) - Downpours have prompted authorities to issue flash flood warnings for some parts of western Iowa.

The National Weather Service said Monday morning that radar shows 6 inches or more (15 centimeters) of rain has fallen in many areas.

Authorities say mud and debris remain on U.S. Highway 71 after flooding from Bluegrass Creek near Audubon.

Other locations where flooding is expected include Arion, Denison, Dow City, Ricketts, Vail and Westside.
