Tucson police: Man fatally shot by on-duty security guard

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Tucson police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man by an on-duty security guard.

Police say the incident occurred Tuesday evening in a desert area near South Kolb Road and Interstate 10 in southeast Tucson.

Sgt. Pete Dugan told media outlets that homicide detectives questioned the security guard, who had called 911 and told officers he was involved in an altercation with the man.

Identities weren’t released and Tucson police did not immediately respond Wednesday to a request for additional information.
