STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) - An inmate who had escaped through an exhaust fan in the ceiling of a shower has been captured and transported to Central Mississippi Correctional Facility.

Starkville Daily News reports that Terry Hill was found at an Okolona home and taken into custody without incident Saturday morning after he escaped Friday night from Oktibbeha County Jail.

County Sheriff Steve Gladney says Hill escaped though the exhaust fan and then crawled roughly 20 yards (18 meters) to the jail’s attic before coming down the stairs and exiting the building.

Hill was convicted last week in county court of sexual battery and other charges stemming from a 2016 incident. He faces a total of 105 years in prison consisting of sentences to run consecutively for counts including robbery and kidnapping.
