KETCHIKAN, Alaska (AP) - Alaska ports will be welcoming a new luxury cruise line starting in 2019.

Azamara Club Cruises recently released its itineraries for 2019 showing the 600-foot Azamara Quest will sail 11 cruises in Alaska. The company is a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean Cruises, The Ketchikan Daily News reported (https://bit.ly/2oTOYx8).

The Azamara Quest can carry more than 1,000 passengers and crew members. It is in the same cruise ship class as the Regatta and the Pacific Princess, said Ketchikan Port and Harbors Director Steve Corporon.

“They’ll fit just fine anywhere the Regatta goes,” Corporon said. ” … The smaller boats fit a little better at (Berth 2), especially from a passenger numbers standpoint, but they could go at any of the berths really. There should be no problems accommodating them.”

Corporon said it is likely the Quest will make a stop in Ketchikan on all of its southeast Alaska cruises.

The cruise line will make its Alaska debut in May 2019.
