PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A woman has been charged with murder in connection with the death of her boyfriend’s 66-year-old grandmother.

WPRI-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2nUgKvN) that 21-year-old Selena Martinez was arraigned Monday but didn’t enter a plea.

Eudora Gustafson was found dead inside her Bristol home on Feb. 10. Her grandson, 24-year-old Raymond Paiva, has been charged with murder.

Martinez is Paiva’s girlfriend.

The station reports that court records state Paiva told police they strangled Gustafson, stole her jewelry and pawned it to buy heroin.

Their attorneys couldn’t be reached for comment Monday.

Martinez was ordered held without bail. She was previously charged with conspiracy, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and receiving stolen goods.

Providence police officers shot at the couple’s car following a car chase the night that Gustafson was found.
