Ohio Gov. John Kasich said Monday he will likely never seek public office again.

“Unlikely that I will ever seek office again, but you never know,” Mr. Kasich said on CBS News. Mr. Kasich is unable to run for governor again in 2018 due to term limits.

But the Ohio Republican claimed he doesn’t have any regrets about his time in office, including skipping the Republican National Convention in his own state last year. Mr. Kasich did not endorse President Trump and did not vote for him.

“My words mean something to me and when somebody was pulling somebody down, I’m not going to go for them,” Mr. Kasich said.

On the issues, the governor said the parties need to come together on topics such as Obamacare to fix the problems and make them work for people.

“Nothing big can be sustained if you don’t have both parties working with it,” Mr. Kasich said.
