INDIANA, Pa. (AP) - A western Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to reduced charges in a crash that killed a friend and injured three other people last year.
The Indiana Gazette (https://bit.ly/2ogAkAf ) reports that 22-year-old Matthew Pommer of Conemaugh Township will be sentenced in June in Indiana County on homicide by vehicle and aggravated assault by vehicle convictions.
In exchange for his pleas, prosecutors set aside a dozen other charges, including homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence.
Investigators said Pommer’s car left the road and slammed into a tree June 5 near Saltsburg. Twenty-one-year-old Luke White was killed and Pommer and another severely injured passenger were flown to a Pittsburgh hospital. Police said two other passengers walked away with moderate injuries and were found by emergency crews in nearby woods.
