QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (AP) - A central New York man has been sentenced to 18 years to life in prison for his role in a home-invasion robbery that left a 58-year-old Glens Falls man dead.
Warren County Judge John Hall imposed the sentence Thursday after 50-year-old Kevin Chapman apologized and read a statement blaming his actions on money problems.
Chapman said his co-defendant, Robert Henry of Ilion, devised a plan to rob Kevin Jenks of Glens Falls, whom he solicited through an online advertisement. Chapman said Henry recruited friends from central New York to go to Glens Falls to rob Jenks’ home.
Henry strangled Jenks last July 6 and stole thousands of dollars in valuables from the house. He was convicted of murder and robbery in February and is in jail awaiting sentencing.
