SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Animal control officials are trying to find out who abused an injured cat found in the same area of Clearfield where a tortured cat died last month.

The Davis County Animal Care and Control said Thursday in a news release that it is offering a $3,000 reward for help find the people responsible for the abuse of a 1-year-old cat found on March 29.

The male tabby cat is expected to survive. They don’t know if he has a name because they haven’t located the owners.

The first cat, named Sage, died after officials found him badly injured on March 9.

Authorities don’t know yet if the two cases are linked, but are exploring the possibility.
