OAKDALE, La. (AP) - A series of strong storms that moved across parts of Southwest Louisiana this week generated at least one tornado in Allen Parish.
National Weather Service meteorologist Roger Erickson told The American Press (https://bit.ly/2nrazvM ) Friday that an EF2 tornado with maximum wind speeds of 115 mph (185 kph) touched down in Oakdale at 8:11 p.m. Wednesday, ripping off roofs, uprooting trees and damaging buildings.
Erickson says the tornado traveled 3.6 miles (5.79 kilometers) and was 100 yards (91.4 meters) wide at its maximum.
Mayor Gene Paul says no injuries were reported.
