SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (AP) - The editor of the weekly newspaper in Gering has been named editor of the daily Scottsbluff Star-Herald in the Nebraska Panhandle.
The Star-Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2cSsQO7 ) that Brad Staman has replaced Star-Herald Editor Bart Schaneman, who is moving to Colorado for a business journalism opportunity.
Staman led the Courier for eight years as it won five awards for excellence from the Nebraska Press Association. The Star-Herald he’ll be leading publishes six days a week and has a circulation of more than 9,600.
Star-Herald sports editor Jeff Fielder will succeed Staman as editor of the Gering Courier. Fielder has served 17 years as sports editor of the Scottsbluff paper.
Both papers are part of BH Media, which is owned by Berkshire Hathaway.
