PHOENIX (AP) - A Phoenix freeway has reopened after being closed more than six hours after a pickup truck struck and killed a man changing a car’s flat tire.

Southbound Interstate 17 reopened at Seventh Street shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday after being closed shortly before midnight Monday.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the 22-year-old man killed was one of four people with the car and that the three others suffered minor injuries. Three of the four were outside the car at the time while the other was seated in the car.

The DPS says the 61-year-old man driving the pickup was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while under the influence.
