CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A Clay County bridge that was damaged during the June floods is being closed to vehicle traffic this week.
The state Division of Highways says in a news release that the 91-year-old Camp Creek Bridge will shut down on Wednesday evening.
The statement says a special damage inspection was conducted on June 27, and significant deficiencies were found during a Sept. 1 inspection. The bridge has been on a 12-month inspection schedule since 2012 due to its deteriorating condition.
The bridge will remain open for foot traffic and inspections will continue every three months. The DOH says a replacement bridge is planned.
