Police say it happened around 6 p.m. Aug. 28 in front of a convenience store on Public Street. Police say a Land Rover Range Rover was being driven in reverse when it struck 61-year-old Suzette Orazi. Orazi fell backward and hit her head on the pavement. She was taken to Rhode Island Hospital and suffered serious injuries.

Police believe the SUV fled on Public Street toward Gordon Avenue.
