WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - Weather officials say early information shows that more than a half-dozen tornadoes touched down in Kansas last week.

Damage surveys conducted by National Weather Service meteorologists have preliminarily confirmed eight tornadoes in Kansas on Thursday. One of the tornadoes was an EF-3. No injuries were reported.

The Wichita Eagle reports (https://j.mp/2e2brr6) officials are still gathering information about tornadoes reported in southeast Kansas on Thursday night, so totals could change.

The strongest of Thursday’s tornadoes touched down in Saline County and stayed on the ground for more than six miles, with peak winds of 140 miles an hour and was 140 yards wide.
