MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Memphis police say a man has been charged after a woman was injured when she allegedly was pushed off a seventh-story apartment balcony.

The Commercial Appeal (https://memne.ws/2dGTxb0 ) reports the incident occurred near the University of Memphis Park Avenue campus.

According to an arrest affidavit, the woman told police she was visiting the home of a man who wanted to have sex with her. When she refused, he allegedly pushed her off the balcony.

Police said the woman sustained a back injury.

The man, 62-year-old Washington Norment, was charged Friday with aggravated assault. He remained held Sunday on $40,000 bond in the Shelby County Jail pending a court hearing Monday. Jail records didn’t indicate whether he has an attorney who can comment on the allegations.
