CARLSBAD, N.M. (AP) - The souvenir store at Carlsbad Caverns has reopened after being closed for several months.

The Carlsbad Current-Argus reports (https://bit.ly/2d10ohg) that the store as well as one at Guadalupe Mountains National Park had grand re-openings just before the weekend.

Both shops shut down in February when their contracts ended with then-operator Carlsbad Caverns/Guadalupe Mountains Association in February.

The Western National Parks Association is now running both.

The nonprofit oversees stores in 69 other parks.

Association operations manager Valerie Schafer says any revenue from the stores will go back to the parks.

The Carlsbad Caverns store will only be open Wednesday through Sunday.
