Here are some details. The three rows are made for traveling so you won’t be disappointed when it comes to the luxurious little extras. Take for example, the second row, which slides over five inches up and back so that passengers have an easy experience getting into the third row. There are reclining second and third row seats and there’s enough room back there for a six-foot tall passenger.
The only changes on this year’s 2016 QX60 are some exterior tweaks like new headlights and taillights giving the QX60 a more modern look. The noise level has also been improved thanks to a new sound insulation that keeps the cabin quieter during the ride.
The competition includes the Acura MDX, Volvo XC9o and the BMW X5, but for the luxury crossover market the Infiniti passes muster with flying colors.
The 2016 Infiniti QX60 comes with a gasoline engine or a gas-electric hybrid system and there is only one trim for each version. For technology, there is a seven-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connect, rearview camera and six speakers with satellite radio, CD player and USB port.
With only one trim, there are optional packages to choose from beginning with the Premium package that will add remote starting, a variety of driver seat settings, an enhanced sound system and a heated steering wheel.
There is a Premium Plus package with safety additions like front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree parking camera and a navigation system. On this package, you also get the Infiniti InTouch electronics interface.

From there, you can add additional packages like the Driver Assistance package focusing on safety, the Theater package with two screens in the rear or the Deluxe Technology package with larger wheels, panoramic sunroof and heated second-row seats.
Under the hood, the 2016 has a 3.5-liter V6 engine that gives you 265 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque with CVT and standard front-wheel drive. There is an option to go with all-wheel drive as well.
On the Hybrid version, it’s a 2.5-liter supercharged four-cylinder engine with a 15kW electric motor using a lithium-ion battery pack. This combination offers 250 horsepower with 243 pound- feet of torque.
Considering safety, you get antilock disc brakes, a rearview camera, stability and traction control, front seat-mounted side and full-length side curtain airbags. There are the additional safety additions if you opt for the various packages including remote door unlocking, speed and geo-fencing, front and rear parking sensors or blind-spot and a 360-degree-view parking camera system.
The interior is plush with wood, metal and leather features making the driving and riding experience above par. Everything is at your fingertips and in the details from the smartphone features to the buttons and knobs that are easy to navigate and use.
Cargo space is smaller than in the competition, but you will get a maximum of 76.5 cubic feet with the second and third row seats folded down. When all three rows are in use you get 15.8 cubic feet in the back.
