NEW LONDON, Conn. (AP) - The Latest on the arrest of a Connecticut man in connection with the 2006 killing of a father of five (all times local):

4 p.m.

A Connecticut man charged in the killing of a father of five nearly 11 years ago has been arraigned in court, where a judge kept bail at $1 million.

Thirty-two-year-old Timothy Johnson did not enter a plea to felony murder during a brief appearance Friday in New London Superior Court. The case was continued to Oct. 18.

State police charged Johnson on Thursday in the killing of 40-year-old Anthony Hamlin, a Groton resident whose naked body was found in a field in Ledyard. The medical examiner’s office said Hamlin died of blunt force trauma to the head.

Troopers say new information led to an arrest warrant. Authorities did not disclose the information or the motive. They said they expect to arrest one or more other people in the case.

Connecticut State Police say they have made an arrest in the death of a father of five whose body was found in a field in Ledyard nearly 11 years ago.

Police on Thursday announced that 32-year-old Timothy Johnson faces a felony murder charge in connection with the January 2006 death of Anthony Hamlin. The 40-year-old Hamlin, of Groton, man was a member of the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation.

An autopsy determined he died of blunt force trauma to the head.

He was last seen in New London the day before his body was found.

Johnson, of Norwich, was held on $1 million bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Friday. It’s not clear if he has a lawyer.
