FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz says he’s “doing everything humanly possible to defeat Hillary Clinton.”

The Fort Worth Star Telegram reports (https://bitly.com/) that while phone banking at Tarrant County Republican Party headquarters on Wednesday, Cruz said he was helping the GOP “win elections at the local and county level, all the way up.”

Cruz for months refused to endorse Donald Trump after finishing second in a bitter GOP presidential primary.

But, in a recent, dramatic about-face, the firebrand senator announced his support for Trump and vowed that Clinton must be stopped at all costs.

Cruz’s initial reluctance to endorse Trump sparked speculation that he could face a serious challenger in Texas’ Republican primary while seeking Senate re-election in 2018.

But Cruz says he’s now fully focused on November - not 2018.
