KELLER, Texas (AP) - A North Texas man is facing a misdemeanor charge after police say he stole eight political signs for both Democratic and Republican candidates, calling the signs “litter.”
Police say 59-year-old Walter Brown took the signs from around the city of Keller, located northeast of Fort Worth.
Police say Brown returned the eight signs after turning himself in to authorities on Thursday.
Brown was charged with theft under $100, a Class C misdemeanor. He is free on bond. Jail records did not list an attorney for Brown.
Stacy Land told KXAS-TV (https://bit.ly/2dRgvy4 ) she saw Brown pulling signs outside of Keller’s town hall and that he ran after she confronted him about it.
