EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a man out on bail who was charged in connection to a fatal shootout on the Atlantic City Expressway has been arrested on drug charges.
Pleasantville police said Wilbert Demosthenes was arrested and charged on Wednesday with possession of 47 grams of items believed to be heroin and cocaine.
Demosthenes was out on $250,000 bail in connection to the Aug. 29 shooting on the Atlantic City Expressway that left 22-year-old Rosemond Octavius dead.
He was one of five suspects arrested and given bail in August. It’s not clear if Demosthenes has an attorney.
The shooting occurred in the eastbound lanes of the Atlantic City Expressway not far from Atlantic City’s airport.
Authorities said the SUV was found with an estimated 21 bullet holes.
