RAINSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley has distributed $2.2 million in Community Block Grants to towns in Jackson and DeKalb Counties.

His office says the money will be used to improve sewer lines, roads, new drainage systems, and more.

The cities that received the grants Wednesday are Stevenson, Section, Valley Head, Collinsville, Pisgah, Paint Rock and Scottsboro.



WAAY-TV (https://bit.ly/2eNHoRk ) reports Bentley, during a meeting in Rainsville, said he plans to travel across the state to present more checks. He says his office has around $37 million on tap for rural Alabama.
