HIGH POIN, N.C. (AP) - Sears says it will close its customer service call center in High Point next year.

Sears Holdings spokesman Howard Riefs told local media Tuesday that the call center in High Point will close in late February.

Riefs would not say how many employees work at the call center. The High Point Enterprise reported (https://bit.ly/2eRqrFh ) that the High Point Economic Development Corp. said in its 2015 report that Sears had about 360 full-time positions..

Riefs says those who are eligible will receive pay and have the opportunity to apply for open positions in the company. He said the workload will be moved to other Sears locations.

The call center had opened in 2009.

Sears continues to operate a Sears Hometown Store in High Point.
