LONACONING, Md. (AP) - Fire investigators say arson was the cause of a fire that destroyed a storage barn filled with farm machinery and antiques in western Maryland.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal said in a statement Tuesday that the fire was set Sunday or Monday in the Allegany County community of Lonaconing (LOH’-nah-koh-ning). The agency says a relative of the owners visited the rural property Monday afternoon and found the 20-by-20-foot, wood-frame structure burned down.

The fire marshal’s office says the fire destroyed a Ford tractor and other farm equipment, plus personal and antique items.

The agency says total losses are estimated at $50,000.
