CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - At least a couple of inches of rain have fallen on many areas in central and southern New Hampshire that are suffering from drought conditions.
The rain, which moved through the state on Friday night, flooded some roads and left some cars partially under water. Rescuers in Nashua removed several people from vehicles and responded to flooding in homes and businesses, including Southern New Hampshire Medical Center.
WMUR-TV reports a woman in Newmarket was trapped in her first-floor apartment because the water wasn’t draining. Firefighters came to rescue her.
Some areas reported at least 3 inches of rain.
Much of the rain fell in parts of the state experiencing abnormally dry to moderate drought conditions.
