BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - A $1.8 million grant has been awarded to the Harrison County School District - the latest in a series of grants for work to help district structures survive severe coastal storms.
Sen. Thad Cochran announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency grant in a Tuesday news release.
The latest grant is for roof work at Harrison Central High School.
Cochran’s release Tuesday said FEMA now has contributed $14 million to the project aimed at retrofitting structures on 18 campuses to help them survive hurricane-force winds.
