NEW LONDON, Conn. (AP) - A Norwich man charged in the killing of a father of five whose body was found in a southeast Connecticut field more than a decade ago has pleaded not guilty to felony murder.
Thirty-two-year-old Timothy Johnson appeared in New London Superior Court on Tuesday. He waived his right to a probable cause hearing in the Jan. 28, 2006 killing of 40-year-old Anthony Hamlin, of Groton, who was a member of the Eastern Pequot (PEE’-kwaht) Tribal Nation.
Hamlin was found dead in Ledyard from blunt force trauma to the head.
Johnson was arrested Oct. 6. Police arrested 32-year-old Christopher Vincenti days later and charged him with felony murder.
Johnson has been held on $1 million bail since his arrest. He’s due back in court on Dec. 14.
