LAS VEGAS (AP) - Windy weather left almost 2,300 homes and businesses without power in the Las Vegas area, while NV Energy reports that electricity has been restored to all but about 600 customers affected by scattered outages in northern Nevada.
The utility reported Monday that an outage was affecting about 2,290 customers in one northwest Las Vegas area.
The National Weather Service reported overnight wind gusts that sometimes topped 30 mph at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.
In Washoe County, more than 400 customers remained without power, and NV Energy reported that electricity was out for more than 80 customers each in Pershing and Humboldt counties.
The company advised people to stay away from downed power lines, and said crews were working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
