MIAMI (AP) - Authorities say two teenage girls were killed while walking to school in separate traffic accidents several counties apart.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal (https://goo.gl/GVtYq6) reports that 19-year-old Stephanie Boebert was walking to Mainland High School Monday morning after missing the bus. Volusia County school officials say Boebert was crossing an intersection when she was hit. She died at the scene.

The Florida Times-Union (https://goo.gl/OLCaFm ) reports that 15-year-old Elizabeth Ross was walking to Sandalwood High School Monday morning when she was hit. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says Ross was taken to a nearby hospital, where she died a short time later.
