ATLANTA (AP) - More than 95 percent of utility customers in southeast Georgia and along the state’s coast have their power restored after Hurricane Matthew struck the area.
Georgia Power reports less than 10,000 residents and businesses are still without electricity Thursday morning. The storm that occurred over the weekend the coastal area included Chatham, Glynn and Effingham county.
Chatham County has most of the outages with 9,118, down nearly 3,000 reported late Wednesday.
Company officials say they’ve restored power to 90 percent of impacted customers.
