MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - Two of the three candidates running for New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District will face each other at an early morning debate in Manchester.
Republican Frank Guinta - the incumbent - and independent Shawn O’Connor will be the latest candidates to participate in WGIR radio’s debate series. Democrat Carol Shea-Porter was invited to the Wednesday morning event but declined.
This is the fourth time Guinta and Shea-Porter have run against each other. She held the seat for two terms until Guinta defeated her in 2010. She beat him in 2012; he won in 2014.
O’Connor initially challenged Shea-Porter in the Democratic primary but dropped out and ran as an independent instead.
