Former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy has decided to pursue a career in mixed martial arts, according to MMAFighting.com.

Hardy, 28, was a unsigned free agent this offseason.

“I’m very focused and excited to start my MMA career,” he said in a statement, MMAFighting.com reported. “I’m going to do this the right way, I can assure you of that.”

Hardy, who has 40 career sacks in 75 games, was infamously suspended for the 2014 season after a domestic violence incident with his former girlfriend. The charges against Hardy’s record have been expunged.
