KINSTON, N.C. (AP) - A staple of eastern North Carolina dining has reopened its doors after flooding from Hurricane Matthew forced it to shut down.
Local media outlets report Kings BBQ in Kinston is serving customers for the first time in a month.
Hurricane Matthew dumped over 28 inches of water in the building. General manager Barbara Goding said it was devastating to see all the damage, and that there was a lot of clean-up to do.
The main dining room served customers for the first time on Tuesday. The banquet room is expected to open on Friday.
