SANTA ROSA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a man was stabbed in Northern California after trying to steal four vehicles.

Sonoma County sheriff’s Lt. Greg Miller tells the Press Democrat (https://bit.ly/2eO7z94 ) that the 30-year-old man tried to carjack three vehicles in Santa Rosa on Sunday and was attempting to steal a fourth when he was stabbed by one of the truck’s occupants.

Miller says the suspect was armed and was stabbed in self-defense.



Deputies say the man was hospitalized with a stab wound in his shoulder. He was later booked into the Sonoma County Jail for carjacking and assault with a deadly weapon.
