VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - A search is underway for a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers employee from Vicksburg who went missing from her barge.

Vicksburg District spokesman Greg Raimondo tells news outlets that 20-year-old Larrielles Ross was last seen Tuesday afternoon.

Ross is a temporary worker on a quarters barge, which is a floating dormitory accompanying a mat sinking unit.

Raimondo says Ross was reported missing Wednesday morning when she wasn’t found on the barge.

He says the mat sinking unit is currently just west of New Orleans, near the Interstate 10 and Interstate 55 intersection.

The Corps’ Vicksburg District, the U.S. Coast Guard, and Louisiana’s St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office are conducting the search and trying to determine what happened.

Raimondo says the barge wasn’t underway at the time Ross went missing.
