The creator of the popular “Game of Thrones” novels and television series, says “Winter is coming” to America in the form of Donald Trump’s incoming administration.

Calling the president-elect a “dangerously unstable player on the world stage,” fantasy writer George R.R. Martin lamented the outcome of the presidential race Wednesday morning in a LiveJournal entry titled “President P—ygrabber” and jokingly located as written from the “Slough of Despond.”

“Over the next four years, our problems are going to get much, much worse,” he complained, particularly since “the decimated Democrats” lacking control of Congress “do not have the power to hinder him.”

On Friday, Mr. Martin, who resides in New Mexico, wrote a much lengthier piece on the presidential campaign titled, “A Simple Observation,” where he more thoroughly laid out his anti-Trump arguments, focusing on things the New York Republican said on the campaign trail which he found beyond the pale.

“He has boasted that he could shoot someone dead on Fifth Avenue and still not lose any votes,” Mr. Martin closed his Nov. 4 blog entry. “I am beginning to think he was right.”
