SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - A former assistant tennis coach at Drury University has been convicted of second-degree rape.

The Springfield News-Leader reports (https://j.mp/2fG2UIi) that the jury deliberated about four hours Thursday before finding Marko Boskovic guilty.

Boskovic, a former assistant tennis coach at Drury, was accused of raping the Drury student in May. He’s no longer employed by the university.

Boskovic is a 25-year-old Serbian national who had also been a graduate student at Drury. His lawyer, Joe Passanise told the jury that his client had been dishonorable and insensitive to the woman, but he didn’t rape her.

Drury spokesman Mike Brothers declined comment on the university’s own internal investigation into the matter.
