The very high-profile Washington Speakers Bureau has announced a new addition to its roster: “We will again be exclusively representing Jeb Bush.” Indeed, the former presidential hopeful and ex-Florida governor is back on the public speaking circuit, and gets a glowing review from his agency: “A successful governor and business, economic, education and health care reformer, Jeb Bush elevates the conversation on how to address the key challenges facing America today.”
The podium is popular among Mr. Bush’s presidential peers. The bureau also represents other former hopefuls, including Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, Rick Perry and Bobby Jindal. And there are familiar family members on board as well. Former President George W. Bush and Laura Bush plus daughters Barbara Pierce Bush and Jenna Hagen are also represented by the agency.
Others have taken a similar route. Former House Speaker John Boehner is also a speaker. Some two months after he resigned from his post on Capitol Hill late last year, Mr. Boehner exclusively registered with the Manhattan-based Harry Walker Agency, another well known speakers bureau which also represents Dick Cheney, former President Bill Clinton and Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton, Al Gore plus Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, among many luminaries.
Mr. Boehner’s first job was as the keynote speaker for a business summit staged by Managed Health Care Associates at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas earlier this month.
