A man being held in a Louisiana jail on charges in another homicide has been indicted in the burning death of Jessica Chambers.
A grand jury in Panola County, Mississippi, handed down the indictment Tuesday against Quinton Tellis, who is thought to be the last person seen with Chambers before her December 2014 death.
Mr. Tellis now sits in the Ouachita Parish Jail, being held in the August 2015 death of a student at the University of Louisiana, Monroe.
A news conference in Panola County, where Chambers and Ms. Tellis went to the same school eight years apart, is scheduled for Wednesday morning, the Jackson Clarion-Ledger reported.
Ms. Chambers, an ex-cheerleader, was doused with gasoline and set aflame sometime on the night of Dec. 6 and, after being found on a road still alive but covered in burns and died a few hours later.
