AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Maine’s annual deer hunt is headed into its final few days for the year.
The state’s deer hunt takes several forms, depending on the hunter’s choice of method. The season for hunting deer with muzzleloaders ends on Saturday and is limited to a handful of wildlife management districts.
There is also an “expanded archery” season for hunting deer with bows and arrows. That season also ends on Saturday and is limited to areas the state says can withstand more hunting pressure on deer.
The regular firearms season for deer hunting ended last month.
