TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Melting snow and below-freezing temperatures in parts of New Jersey could make for patches of black ice and slippery commute.

The National Weather Service predicted on Friday that temperatures will rise above freezing across much of the state after sunrise melting the icy patches.

But forecasters warn that some walkways in particular could be hazardous.

Parts of northern New Jersey saw some snow on Thursday while much of the rest of the state had rain.
